Grupo Votorantim recently redefined and formalized its cultural investment guidelines, in order to coordinate and potentialize the projects supported, besides guaranteeing a performance that is in line with the Brazilian reality and necessities.

Grupo Votorantim identified and defined, in a pioneer fashion in the corporate segment, cultural democratization as the focal point of its activity in the area. The Company believes that symbolic experience expressed in art and in culture is essential for human education, and for this reason supports projects geared toward cultural access.

The Company’s investment in the area occurs through two programs:

Cultural Democratization Program

The purpose of this program is to support actions and projects that allow the population to participate in culture, expanding and qualifying access, prioritarily by youths, to artistic experiences. The definition of the projects supported occurs through two processes:

• Public selection of projects: selective process open to proponents from all over Brazil, aiming at the choice of projects of excellence in a wide range of regions of the country, which have democratization of access to culture as a focal point.

• Development of local projects: assisted and continued process, in which proponents from some strategic cities to Votorantim are invited to create cultural projects that fulfill the specific requirements of the region. Unlike public selection, in this process the proponents cannot become candidates, but must instead be invited by one of the Business Units of the Group.

Heritage Program

Represents the continuity of the historical performance of Grupo Votorantim in the cultural area. Aligned to the cause of cultural democratization, projects for the preservation, restoration, modernization and adaptation of Brazilian artistic, historical and cultural heritage in pursuit of enjoyment by the public are benefited. There is no public selection in this Program. The projects are identified by Votorantim and evaluated in accordance with pre-established criteria.
